DMECA provides structured advocacy support for students with IEPs and Section 504 plans, parent education workshops, scholarship opportunities, and targeted support for families experiencing educational disruption due to disability, relocation, medical needs, or military-related transitions.

Families with children enrolled in Pre-K through 12th grade who have documented IEP or Section 504 concerns, are experiencing educational disruption, or demonstrate financial hardship may apply for scholarship consideration or advocacy support. All applications are subject to review and funding availability.

You can apply directly through our Apply for Support page by completing the application form and submitting the required documentation. Submission does not guarantee approval, as all applications are subject to board review and funding availability. Applicants will be contacted regarding next steps following initial review.

DMECA maintains accountability through structured board oversight, including quarterly reviews, the tracking of measurable outcomes, and the publication of an annual impact summary to ensure programs are effective and resources are used responsibly. DMECA also maintains administrative expenses at or below 10% annually.

Yes. While our primary focus is supporting families, DMECA also provides guidance and resources for educators and school staff to strengthen their ability to support students with IEPs, Section 504 plans, and other educational needs.

DMECA tracks measurable outcomes, including the number of scholarships awarded, workshops delivered, families served, and overall program effectiveness. Annual impact reports are published to ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous program improvement. Program outcomes are reviewed regularly through board oversight to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
